After a rather tough play, FC Lobbes's Kristen Vogels got a free kick in the 4th minute. Fredrik Van Achter kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. A collision led to FC Lobbes getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Waud Ghesels hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabriel De Schutter during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Joery Machiels came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Wendelghem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joery Machiels couldn't finish the play. Fredrik Van Achter was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 17th minute. Wendelghem's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Sam-Lucas Verbruggen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joery Machiels in the 21st minute. After 24 played minutes Wendelghem got a freekick which was hit by Norbert Sloeve. 25 minutes into the match, Waud Ghesels had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jelle Liebrechts. Wendelghem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Waud Ghesels was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. FC Lobbes's Sam-Lucas Verbruggen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fredrik Van Achter in the 28th minute of play. If Fredrik Van Achter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 37 minutes, Waud Ghesels managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Lobbes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waud Ghesels was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 40 minutes of play, Wendelghem's Joery Machiels made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sam-Lucas Verbruggen was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Waud Ghesels made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute FC Lobbes were awarded a corner. Roel Kint went to the cornerflag to take it. Joery Machiels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fredrik Van Achter in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sam-Lucas Verbruggen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fredrik Van Achter might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sam-Lucas Verbruggen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fredrik Van Achter ran back to his position shaking his head. Wendelghem's Joery Machiels got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Joery Machiels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sam-Lucas Verbruggen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joery Machiels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the game, Fredrik Van Achter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Sam-Lucas Verbruggen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sam-Lucas Verbruggen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joery Machiels's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. After having played for 92 minutes, Fredrik Van Achter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wendelghem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fredrik Van Achter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wendelghem walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
