After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Ramon De Maijer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hemiksem's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramon De Maijer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albertus Wegers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute Sammy Van de Gaer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertus Wegers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Henri-Patrick De Hoef fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Bleidenhoek's protests and gave Henri-Patrick De Hoef a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Hemiksem booed when SK Bleidenhoek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henri-Patrick De Hoef didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sammy Van de Gaer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertus Wegers having to interfere. Albertus Wegers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sammy Van de Gaer in the 32nd minute of play. Sammy Van de Gaer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albertus Wegers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Ramon De Maijer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pieter-Jan De Schepper hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Albertus Wegers came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Hemiksem's Sammy Van de Gaer. But to his dismay, Sammy Van de Gaer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Albertus Wegers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sammy Van de Gaer in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Jannes De Bisschop made the kick off in the second half. Sammy Van de Gaer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the game, Sammy Van de Gaer recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Albertus Wegers. Sammy Van de Gaer showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. The audience was convinced that Jannes De Bisschop's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerome Baele was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 62nd minute, Jorge Cappels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hemiksem's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wes Van Hole in the 65th minute. SK Bleidenhoek's Albertus Wegers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save SK Bleidenhoek from getting a goal against them. 72 minutes into the match, SK Bleidenhoek's goal looked a bit too open when Sammy Van de Gaer came free, but Albertus Wegers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, SK Bleidenhoek's Floris Beekman got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sammy Van de Gaer in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albertus Wegers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 82nd minute, Ramon De Maijer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hemiksem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. 90 minutes into the match, SK Bleidenhoek's goalkeeper Albertus Wegers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramon De Maijer. The audience was convinced that Jannes De Bisschop's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerome Baele was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Tran Vrancx might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jerome Baele. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tran Vrancx ran back to his position shaking his head. Jerome Baele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jannes De Bisschop in the 95th minute of play. The SK Bleidenhoek fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hemiksem were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
