The goalkeeper, Timy De Koster, was totally fooled by KFC Matersveld's Arnold Van Hespe, who 12 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After having played for 18 minutes, Joerie Keldermans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Matersveld's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joerie Keldermans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. KFC Matersveld's Vicente Daneels got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC Flamierge's goalkeeper Timy De Koster, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, AFC Flamierge's Alphonse De Koster sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michael Streels narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vicente Daneels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Matersveld's zone, Alphonse De Koster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michael Streels came out of the goal and Alphonse De Koster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vicente Daneels to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Jimmy Ablij mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KFC Matersveld and the AFC Flamierge players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 53 played minutes KFC Matersveld got a freekick which was hit by Jimmy Ablij. Joseph Aerts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Streels having to interfere. KFC Matersveld's Michael Streels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alphonse De Koster in the 58th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Vicente Daneels managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Matersveld's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Daneels was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Daneels in the 67th minute of play forced AFC Flamierge's goalkeeper Timy De Koster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alphonse De Koster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Streels having to interfere. Timy De Koster didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joerie Keldermans went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Alphonse De Koster succeeded in the game's 75th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. After a rather tough play, KFC Matersveld's Arsene Decorte got a free kick in the 78th minute. Joseph Aerts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Michael Streels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnold Van Hespe during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
