The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ardevoor's Hendrik-Jan Van Eynde proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Ardevoor from getting a goal against them. If Lou Ingelborgh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lou Ingelborgh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrik Samyn having to interfere. Tuur Van Den Wijngaert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Henrik Samyn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 20 played minutes Ardevoor got a freekick which was hit by Didier Heijligen. After 21 played minutes, Wilderen's Jean Van Lancker shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hendrik-Jan Van Eynde came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Wilderen reached it. 25 minutes into the match, Ardevoor's goal looked a bit too open when Bill Vervoort came free, but Hendrik-Jan Van Eynde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thierry De Mare kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Tuur Van Den Wijngaert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrik Samyn having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Tuur Van Den Wijngaert ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrik Samyn was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Harald Colebrants could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Hendrik-Jan Van Eynde made a huge save. After 45 played minutes Wilderen got a freekick which was hit by Luk De Ridder. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bill Vervoort was the one to do the kick off. Ardevoor's Hendrik-Jan Van Eynde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harald Colebrants in the 53rd minute of play. Tuur Van Den Wijngaert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrik Samyn having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ardevoor's Edgard Sielens got a free kick in the 79th minute. Lou Ingelborgh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrik Samyn having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Lou Ingelborgh took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Henrik Samyn to make any attempt to save it. 89 minutes into the match, Tuur Van Den Wijngaert notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Wilderen's Henrik Samyn. Henrik Samyn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ardevoor's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
