Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the match, RSC Loenhout's goal looked a bit too open when Matteo Valckx came free, but Gilliam De Deygere reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yanne Bellinkx kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. If Matteo Valckx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When SC Merelbeke's Guy Huijbregs in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye RSC Loenhout's goalie prevented a goal. Matteo Valckx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilliam De Deygere having to interfere. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Merelbeke's goalkeeper Yvan Van Espen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilliam De Deygere showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guy Huijbregs, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillaume Cesters during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 24th minute, Guillaume Cesters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julius Denys received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Yvan Van Espen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of RSC Loenhout booed when SC Merelbeke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luckas Vollens didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Jacques Ombelets took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Yvan Van Espen to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, SC Merelbeke's Balthazar De Jonge got a free kick in the 40th minute. Jacques Ombelets might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yvan Van Espen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacques Ombelets ran back to his position shaking his head. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacques Ombelets made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Jacques Ombelets got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Matteo Valckx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Gilliam De Deygere tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 played minutes SC Merelbeke got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin De Clerk. Jacques Ombelets sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jose De Haes's late challenge caught a SC Merelbeke's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose De Haes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SC Merelbeke booed when RSC Loenhout was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose De Haes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julius Denys recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in SC Merelbeke's zone, Julius Denys stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yvan Van Espen came out of the goal and Julius Denys tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of SC Merelbeke booed when RSC Loenhout was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacques Ombelets didn't get a good kick on the ball. RSC Loenhout were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing SC Merelbeke to leave the ground with a draw.
