Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Philip Geldhof started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 10 minutes, Philip Geldhof made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Rekkem's Armand Vorster tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Armand Vorster made an important save on a dangerous shot by Izak Lanen in the 14th minute. Wesley Verhulst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benny Van den Wyngaert in the 19th minute of the match. Wesley Verhulst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benny Van den Wyngaert in the 20th minute of play. In the 24th minute of the match, Izak Lanen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Armand Vorster was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 28 minutes into the match, Lier's Izak Lanen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armand Vorster narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Levi Smets sped through Lier's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wesley Verhulst. Levi Smets sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Benny Van den Wyngaert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benny Van den Wyngaert to strike the kick off in the second half. Rekkem's Maxim-Alexander Ghesels got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jim Schuts's late challenge caught a Rekkem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jim Schuts helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Lier getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Jim Schuts hit a great ball. The Lier fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Lier's Philip Geldhof looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the last second Wesley Verhulst throw himself and got hold of the ball when Benny Van den Wyngaert in the 69thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 70th minute, Rekkem's Benny Van den Wyngaert ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wesley Verhulst. Wesley Verhulst yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. In the 74th minute Philip Geldhof shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armand Vorster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benny Van den Wyngaert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wesley Verhulst having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Levi Smets ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wesley Verhulst was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. After a rather tough play, Lier's Gabriel Wortelaert got a free kick in the 85th minute. When Rekkem's Benny Van den Wyngaert in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lier's goalie prevented a goal. If Izak Lanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armand Vorster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philip Geldhof, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Rekkem players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
