In the 13th minute Achilles Taverniers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinand Leemans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute, Yvan Huijsmans ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ferdinand Leemans was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renzo van Hagenborgh got free with Hendrik Landewijck in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hendrik Landewijck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovanni Goebelens in the 19th minute of play. The attack was good, but when Achilles Taverniers in the 30th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Ferdinand Leemans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yvan Huijsmans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 44 minutes, Siebe Thielemans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RSC Lichtervelde and the Lembeek players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Lembeek booed when RSC Lichtervelde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Siebe Thielemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hendrik Landewijck made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Renzo van Hagenborgh sent off a good shot on target. Hendrik Landewijck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovanni Goebelens, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When the match had gone on for 49 minutes, Giovanni Goebelens took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Hendrik Landewijck to make any attempt to save it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Giovanni Goebelens made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mark Dierickx during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to RSC Lichtervelde getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Mark Dierickx hit a great ball. Hendrik Landewijck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renzo van Hagenborgh, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind RSC Lichtervelde's goalkeeper Hendrik Landewijck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Giovanni Goebelens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Hendrik Landewijck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the game, Thibau Van Leemputten recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ferdinand Leemans. Thibau Van Leemputten showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Hendrik Landewijck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giovanni Goebelens's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. After 85 minutes of play RSC Lichtervelde's Mark Dierickx was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Mark Dierickx kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Giovanni Goebelens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Hendrik Landewijck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Lembeek's Giovanni Goebelens in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Siebe Thielemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th match minute, RSC Lichtervelde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yvan Huijsmans to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched RSC Lichtervelde eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
