Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Gottignies's Philippe-Arnaud Goebelens started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Trekschuren's Charlie Goorts got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Alex Dillemans's late challenge caught a Trekschuren's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Dillemans helped the player get up and apologised. After 7 played minutes Gottignies got a freekick which was hit by Alex Dillemans. Kurt Mestdagh was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 8th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Tony Wellens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ive Segers having to interfere. Ive Segers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amaury Provoost in the 14th minute of the match. In the 17th match minute, Gottignies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo De Leger to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 18 minutes, Amaury Provoost managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trekschuren's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amaury Provoost was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Richard Poets recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Trekschuren's zone, Philippe-Arnaud Goebelens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jasper Dauwe came out of the goal and Philippe-Arnaud Goebelens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amaury Provoost fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ive Segers having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tony Wellens in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ive Segers saved Gottignies from getting behind. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gottignies's goalkeeper Ive Segers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Trekschuren's Amaury Provoost sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ive Segers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tony Wellens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Gottignies's zone, Amaury Provoost stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ive Segers came out of the goal and Amaury Provoost tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Tony Wellens made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Amaury Provoost managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trekschuren's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amaury Provoost was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Trekschuren's goal looked a bit too open when Philippe-Arnaud Goebelens came free, but Jasper Dauwe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Richard Poets scored 2-0 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jasper Dauwe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 65th minute, Tony Wellens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ive Segers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tony Wellens's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Gert-Jan Kindt kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Tony Wellens took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Ive Segers to make any attempt to save it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Philippe-Arnaud Goebelens in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jasper Dauwe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ive Segers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Wellens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Gottignies booed when Trekschuren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luuk den Pelsmaeker didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the game, one of Trekschuren:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Danny Sempels shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When Gottignies's Philippe-Arnaud Goebelens in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Trekschuren's goalie prevented a goal. Richard Poets sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 91 minutes into the game, Philippe-Arnaud Goebelens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jasper Dauwe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Tony Wellens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gottignies fans cheered their team off the field, for while Trekschuren had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
