Waut Vercouteren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Uytdebroeck, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Waut Vercouteren stood somewhat misplaced when Reinaert Raeimakers came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 19 minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gwenn Goons in the 22nd minute of play forced Fc Oxford's goalkeeper Steffen Kortens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Patrick Omblet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Andy Uytdebroeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. In the 39th minute, Andy Uytdebroeck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rik Iansens to make the kick off. Andy Uytdebroeck struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Waut Vercouteren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc Oxford. 58 minutes into the match, Fc Oxford's goal looked a bit too open when Rik Iansens came free, but Steffen Kortens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waut Vercouteren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaert Raeimakers, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Waut Vercouteren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andy Uytdebroeck's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. 69 minutes into the game, Andy Uytdebroeck cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Waut Vercouteren was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Andy Uytdebroeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. In the 76thth minute of the game Rik Iansens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fc Oxford's Steffen Kortens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reinaert Raeimakers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute Reinaert Raeimakers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waut Vercouteren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andy Uytdebroeck in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waut Vercouteren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 86thth minute of the game Reinaert Raeimakers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KAA Brakel's Waut Vercouteren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 88th minute of the match Stein Sproten shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Waut Vercouteren showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 91stth minute of the game Andy Uytdebroeck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KAA Brakel's Waut Vercouteren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reinaert Raeimakers took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waut Vercouteren. Waut Vercouteren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fc Oxford fully deserved thier win.
