A wasted opportunity for Kon.Bresvlim. 11 minutes into the match, Natan Engels dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Geert Hollants, 1-0. 15 minutes into the match, Hives's goal looked a bit too open when Harald Cantillon came free, but Geert Hollants reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karel-Jan Roose charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karel-Jan Roose the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Karel-Jan Roose kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Gilian Van Eijken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stijn Wuyts, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 19 played minutes Kon.Bresvlim got a freekick which was hit by Karel-Jan Roose. Kenney Van Balen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilian Van Eijken. Kon.Bresvlim's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gilian Van Eijken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregorie De Wortelaers in the 29th minute of play. If Natan Engels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julius Huijberechts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Geert Hollants tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Natan Engels fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kon.Bresvlim's protests and gave Natan Engels a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kon.Bresvlim getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Natan Engels hit a great ball. Geert Hollants made an important save on a dangerous shot by Natan Engels in the 40th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Hives's zone, Natan Engels stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geert Hollants came out of the goal and Natan Engels tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastien Liboton struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. In the 48th minute Sebastien Liboton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geert Hollants saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
