After 20 played minutes Ardooie got a freekick which was hit by Pierre Van Severen. 23 minutes into the game, Ardooie's Ivan Reijniers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bertan Helsens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The Ardooie fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Ardooie's Ivan Reijniers looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 36th minute, Ardooie's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Guust Van der Vorst fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Niel Herremans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeffrey Valckeneers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jeffrey Valckeneers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guust Van der Vorst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jeffrey Valckeneers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Niel Herremans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Guust Van der Vorst came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Willemeau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guust Van der Vorst couldn't finish the play.
