Kevin Herinckx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 6 minutes, Peter-Jan Deflandre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 2860 Linksback's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter-Jan Deflandre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Herinckx in the 11th minute of play forced 2860 Linksback's goalkeeper Tom Van Bouschot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonio Lenoir struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Tom Van Bouschot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Slotendries. Antonio Lenoir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Tom Van Bouschot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Joerie Van Langhendoncx fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 2860 Linksback's protests and gave Joerie Van Langhendoncx a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Slotendries booed when 2860 Linksback was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joerie Van Langhendoncx didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 minutes of play, SC Slotendries's Kevin Herinckx made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tom Van Bouschot was left in no man's land by his defense there! 24 minutes into the match, SC Slotendries's goal looked a bit too open when Peter-Jan Deflandre came free, but Bram Van Achter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, SC Slotendries's Kevin Herinckx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tom Van Bouschot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After a rather tough play, SC Slotendries's Herbert Switten got a free kick in the 29th minute. 34 minutes into the match, SC Slotendries's goal looked a bit too open when Peter-Jan Deflandre came free, but Bram Van Achter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerard Dauwen got free with Bram Van Achter in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Tom Van Bouschot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Herinckx in the 53rd minute of play. Kevin Herinckx recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Miguel Van Geestel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom Van Bouschot having to interfere. Maarten De Hooge's late challenge caught a SC Slotendries's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maarten De Hooge helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, 2860 Linksback's Maarten De Hooge got a free kick in the 86th minute. 2860 Linksback's Tom Van Bouschot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save 2860 Linksback from getting a goal against them. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Slotendries's goalkeeper Bram Van Achter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Antonio Lenoir came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the SC Slotendries fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Lenoir couldn't finish the play.
