The SK Rattevalle fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vicente Loots should have stopped the shot. Club Brugge KV's Bartjan Van de kauter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anthony De Backer in the 21st minute of play. Club Brugge KV's Bartjan Van de kauter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Club Brugge KV from getting a goal against them. 26 minutes into the match, Andrew Nagels had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bartjan Van de kauter. In the 44th minute Andrew Nagels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bartjan Van de kauter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stanny Verlinden could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Bartjan Van de kauter made a huge save. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrew Nagels to make the kick off.
