If Charles-Antoine Schroons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bjorn De Vlaeminck received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Artuur Van Hoyveldt came out and tried to block the shot, but Bjorn De Vlaeminck slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 5th minute. 8 minutes into the match, KFC Wemmel's Bjorn De Vlaeminck sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Artuur Van Hoyveldt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Yannis Maerschalck spun around in front of the goal 10 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Leffe's goal. 15 minutes into the match, KFC Wemmel's goal looked a bit too open when Wes Van Houtvinc came free, but Richy Van der Roost reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bjorn De Vlaeminck struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Artuur Van Hoyveldt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Wemmel. Artuur Van Hoyveldt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bjorn De Vlaeminck in the 22nd minute of the match. Bjorn De Vlaeminck struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Artuur Van Hoyveldt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Wemmel. Yannis Maerschalcks short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Artuur Van Hoyveldt to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Leffe's Jeremie Anthonis got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th match minute, KFC Wemmel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claude Joostens to maneuver through the defense. Wes Van Houtvinc might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richy Van der Roost. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wes Van Houtvinc ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 34th minute Jeremie Anthonis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richy Van der Roost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of KFC Wemmel booed when Leffe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Piet Poortmans didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Leffe's zone, Bjorn De Vlaeminck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artuur Van Hoyveldt came out of the goal and Bjorn De Vlaeminck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yannis Maerschalck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Yannis Maerschalck came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the KFC Wemmel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yannis Maerschalck couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Pierrot Iwens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artuur Van Hoyveldt having to interfere. In the 52nd minute, Piet Poortmans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bjorn De Vlaeminck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Artuur Van Hoyveldt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, KFC Wemmel's Richy Van der Roost got control of the ball when Wes Van Houtvinc tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute Bjorn De Vlaeminck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artuur Van Hoyveldt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeremie Anthonis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Richy Van der Roost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. KFC Wemmel's Richy Van der Roost proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save KFC Wemmel from getting a goal against them. In the 76th minute of the match Henry Hoolemans shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Richy Van der Roost showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 77 played minutes KFC Wemmel got a freekick which was hit by Pierrot Iwens. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bjorn De Vlaeminck in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Artuur Van Hoyveldt saved Leffe from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Leffe's zone, Bjorn De Vlaeminck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artuur Van Hoyveldt came out of the goal and Bjorn De Vlaeminck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leffe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Wemmel the free kick. KFC Wemmel's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Seppe Bourgeois in the 89th minute. After taking down the ball on KFC Wemmel's corner Seppe Bourgeois fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Artuur Van Hoyveldt quite easily take care of the ball. In the 95th minute, Bjorn De Vlaeminck left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KFC Wemmel fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. KFC Wemmel's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
