Gregorie Peten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joey Engelbert in the 5th minute of play. Fabien Geerts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Kenneth Van den Hoff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Joey Engelbert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Hombourg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Harry Schoolmeesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the game, Wassegem's Fabien Geerts nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kenneth Van den Hoff made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 32nd minute, Fabien Geerts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Hombourg's Kenneth Van den Hoff proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save FC Hombourg from getting a goal against them. When Martijn Goovaers fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Hombourg's protests and gave Martijn Goovaers a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Hombourg getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Martijn Goovaers hit a great ball.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joey Engelbert was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Fabien Geerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth Van den Hoff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wassegem's Gregorie Peten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Wassegem from getting a goal against them. The supporters of FC Hombourg booed when Wassegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Wolfdoncx didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Wassegem's goalkeeper Gregorie Peten had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cederik Oliviers. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Cederik Oliviers took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Gregorie Peten to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in FC Hombourg's zone, Harry Schoolmeesters stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kenneth Van den Hoff came out of the goal and Harry Schoolmeesters tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kenneth Van den Hoff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabien Geerts in the 73rd minute of the match. After 78 minutes of play, FC Hombourg's Cederik Oliviers made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gregorie Peten was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Lucien Daniels fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Hombourg's protests and gave Lucien Daniels a yellow card for diving instead. Lucien Daniels kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After 86 minutes FC Hombourg's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rocky Temmerman who took care of the corner kick. If Cederik Oliviers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The FC Hombourg players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
