Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. William Van Hoeyvelt started the match with the kick off. Bobby Van Ghele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cedric Vuerinckx's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. 5 minutes into the match, Excelsior Mullem's goalkeeper Roel Van Leemputte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gunter Van de Weijer. Bobby Van Ghele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Reynaerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Gooik fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 14th minute. Penalty! FC Gooik:s Bobby Van Ghele showed great skill when he stopped Jonathan Reynaerts:s penalty. Bobby Van Ghele didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jonathan Reynaerts went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. FC Gooik's William Van Hoeyvelt shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 20th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Roel Van Leemputte but with some difficulty. Cedric Vuerinckx took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bobby Van Ghele. Bobby Van Ghele dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 28 minutes into the game, Jonathan Reynaerts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Bobby Van Ghele was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathan Reynaerts in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bobby Van Ghele saved FC Gooik from getting behind. Bobby Van Ghele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Reynaerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes into the game, one of Excelsior Mullem:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Roel Van Leemputte, was totally fooled by FC Gooik's Paul Van Damme, who 42 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Cedric Vuerinckx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half Excelsior Mullem were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathan Reynaerts in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bobby Van Ghele saved FC Gooik from getting behind. When Geert-Jan Coekelberghs fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Gooik's protests and gave Geert-Jan Coekelberghs a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 played minutes FC Gooik got a freekick which was hit by Geert-Jan Coekelberghs. With a little luck, FC Gooik's Bobby Van Ghele got control of the ball when Nils De Neuter tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Excelsior Mullem's Jonathan Reynaerts slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bobby Van Ghele. That made the score 2-4 after 58 minutes of play. When William Van Hoeyvelt fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Gooik's protests and gave William Van Hoeyvelt a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Cedric Vuerinckx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bobby Van Ghele was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, FC Gooik's Geert-Jan Coekelberghs got a free kick in the 66th minute. Jonathan Reynaerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 71 minutes into the match, FC Gooik's goalkeeper Bobby Van Ghele had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cedric Vuerinckx. Bobby Van Ghele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Reynaerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute Gunter Van de Weijer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roel Van Leemputte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cedric Vuerinckx in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bobby Van Ghele, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Excelsior Mullem's Roel Van Leemputte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gunter Van de Weijer in the 78th minute of play. Nils De Neuter charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nils De Neuter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nils De Neuter hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Bobby Van Ghele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Reynaerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Jonathan Reynaerts's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bobby Van Ghele was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Bobby Van Ghele made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Cedric Vuerinckx sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cedric Vuerinckx got free with Bobby Van Ghele in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 95 minutes into the match, Excelsior Mullem's Jonathan Reynaerts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bobby Van Ghele narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bobby Van Ghele was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cedric Vuerinckx showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-5 in the 96 minute of play. The FC Gooik supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Excelsior Mullem's performance. The match ended with a win for Excelsior Mullem.
