Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jorge Uyterhelcht kicked off to start the match. In the 9th minute of the match Wes Raeymakers sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Maarten Godts skillfully saved the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Santvliet's goalkeeper Maarten Godts had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frederick Vervaeck. Maarten Godts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Uyterhelcht in the 15th minute of play. Frederick Vervaeck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Frederick Vervaeck notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Santvliet's Maarten Godts. Maarten Godts was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joerie Roeckeloes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benny Henderickx having to interfere. Joerie Roeckeloes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Jorge Uyterhelcht took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maarten Godts. Maarten Godts dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Avelgem's Jorge Uyterhelcht got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frederick Vervaeck's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 45thth minute, Maarten Godts skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anthonio Turpin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joerie Roeckeloes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Benny Henderickx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Santvliet fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! Jorge Uyterhelcht received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Maarten Godts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A very good chance. In the 75th minute, Jurgen Meulemans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute Frederick Vervaeck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maarten Godts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Santvliet getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Franky Conincx hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diederik Sanders during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th minute, Diederik Sanders hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maarten Godts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Uyterhelcht in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Jurgen Meulemans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santvliet's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Avelgem the free kick. After 89 played minutes Santvliet got a freekick which was hit by Jurgen Meulemans. In the 92nd minute Frederick Vervaeck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maarten Godts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Frederick Vervaeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Avelgem's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
