The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Joannes Van De Ven dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Frederick Van Lint, 1-0. The supporters of VC Berzee booed when SK Westrozebeke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karel-Jan Verhagen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeremie Dockx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederick Van Lint having to interfere. Didier Bekaert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dolf Tilemans's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Frederick Van Lint showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremie Dockx, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Jeremie Dockx made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes SK Westrozebeke got a freekick which was hit by Bavo Imberechts. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Jeremie Dockx sped through SK Westrozebeke's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Frederick Van Lint. When Robbe Demeyer fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Westrozebeke's protests and gave Robbe Demeyer a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SK Westrozebeke getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Robbe Demeyer hit a great ball. In the 60th match minute, SK Westrozebeke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jannick Van Der Linden to maneuver through the defense. Frederick Van Lint took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremie Dockx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute of the match Diego Struijf sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Didier Bekaert skillfully saved the ball. In the 89thth minute of the game Dolf Tilemans who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VC Berzee's Didier Bekaert was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, VC Berzee's Herbert Massenhove got a free kick in the 90th minute. VC Berzee's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
