In the 18th minute, one of KAA Ruette:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KAA Ruette. After some careless play in the KAA Ruette defense, Emiel Snoekens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Youri De Clercq. The KAA Ruette fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Youri De Clercq should have stopped the shot. Emiel Snoekens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Youri De Clercq having to interfere. Elias De Metser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Youri De Clercq tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andreas Skouten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Elias De Metser scored 0-3 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Youri De Clercq, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Elias De Metser put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Youri De Clercq. In the 63rd minute Emiel Snoekens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Youri De Clercq saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Elias De Metser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 played minutes KAA Ruette got a freekick which was hit by Luc Verhaghe. 74 minutes into the game, Club Genappe's Emiel Snoekens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Youri De Clercq made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. In the 78th minute Luc Verhaghe suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Martial De Geutter charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martial De Geutter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andreas Skouten in the 93rd minute of play forced Club Genappe's goalkeeper Jean-Louis Roockeloes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Arno De Meesemaeckere had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Club Genappe played a much better game than KAA Ruette and deserved their victory. The KAA Ruette players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
