After a rather tough play, KFC Oosthoven's Ernst Geijselinckx got a free kick in the 4th minute. Robbie Neels, 5 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 9 played minutes Leeuwergem got a freekick which was hit by Thobias Verduijn. A collision led to Leeuwergem getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Thobias Verduijn hit a great ball. Ignace Seveneijns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Christoph Bernage tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christoph Bernage showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josef Sellekaers in the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Josef Sellekaers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christoph Bernage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The KFC Oosthoven fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when KFC Oosthoven's Ignace Seveneijns looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Christoph Bernage showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gill Franckx, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Josef Sellekaers sped through Leeuwergem's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Christoph Bernage. Ignace Seveneijns might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christoph Bernage. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ignace Seveneijns ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 43rd minute Josef Sellekaers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christoph Bernage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christoph Bernage showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignace Seveneijns in the 46th minute of the match. KFC Oosthoven's Ignace Seveneijns got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alek van Kelfs was the one to do the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 54 minutes into the game, when Gill Franckx put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of KFC Oosthoven:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Leeuwergem:s goal. The referee gave Leeuwergem a penalty, 56 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Robbie Neels, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of KFC Oosthoven's Wayne De Wilde. 1-2. If Billie Bellinkx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ignace Seveneijns got free with Christoph Bernage in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Leeuwergem's Christoph Bernage got control of the ball when Ignace Seveneijns tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignace Seveneijns in the 64th minute of play forced Leeuwergem's goalkeeper Christoph Bernage to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christoph Bernage was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Billie Bellinkx showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 65 minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Leeuwergem's Lionel Beetens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wayne De Wilde narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lionel Beetens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ignace Seveneijns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christoph Bernage having to interfere. The supporters of Leeuwergem booed when KFC Oosthoven was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Verhaeghen didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lionel Beetens in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wayne De Wilde saved KFC Oosthoven from getting behind. 91 minutes into the match, Leeuwergem's goal looked a bit too open when Billie Bellinkx came free, but Christoph Bernage reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christoph Bernage made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Ignace Seveneijns sent off a good shot on target. 96 minutes into the match, KFC Oosthoven's Gunther De Wit sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christoph Bernage narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alek van Kelfs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. KFC Oosthoven's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
