After a rather tough play, Grammene's Mateo Kindermans got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute, YR Mechelen's Miguel Van Mechelen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Leo Van Mechelen kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Mateo Kindermans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, YR Mechelen's Miguel Van Mechelen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. 24 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Max Ceusters came free, but Stanny Van Wontergem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Van Mechelen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Dolf Kindermans made a huge save. When Alan Wirinckx fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored YR Mechelen's protests and gave Alan Wirinckx a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, YR Mechelen's Alan Wirinckx got a free kick in the 34th minute. The supporters of Grammene booed when YR Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamie Van Mechelen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Achilles Van der Voert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miguel Van Mechelen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dolf Kindermans having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Grammene's Mateo Kindermans got a free kick in the 44th minute. Miguel Van Mechelen succeeded in the game's 46th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Achilles Van der Voert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Achilles Van der Voert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Stanny Van Wontergem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th match minute, YR Mechelen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gwen Shamp to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arno Slegers in the 72nd minute of play forced YR Mechelen's goalkeeper Stanny Van Wontergem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 6-1 became the score in the 76th minute when Miguel Van Mechelen elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Dolf Kindermans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andries Mangelschot in the 78th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Van Mechelen in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dolf Kindermans saved Grammene from getting behind. Stanny Van Wontergem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Achilles Van der Voert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grammene's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because YR Mechelen had won, even though Grammene had held more of the ball.
