The audience thought a goal was coming when Hugo Voorhof got free with Cederique Jamieson in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 17th match minute, Sint-Niklaas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timothy Deswarte to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Sint-Niklaas getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Timothy Deswarte hit a great ball. Emiliano Martínez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jannes De Weijngaerden in the 27th minute of play. Kings of Neon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sint-Niklaas the free kick. After 45 played minutes Kings of Neon got a freekick which was hit by Jeremie Huysmans. After a rather tough play, Kings of Neon's Yanis Goons got a free kick in the 46th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Kings of Neon's goal looked a bit too open when Frederick Declerck came free, but Cederique Jamieson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jannes De Weijngaerden to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Sint-Niklaas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timothy Deswarte to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jannes De Weijngaerden in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emiliano Martínez saved Sint-Niklaas from getting behind. Emiliano Martínez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jannes De Weijngaerden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
