An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Wirinckx in the 2nd minute of play forced FC Bruges's goalkeeper Luc Van Hinnendael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carl Van Kamp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Christoffel Portmans made a huge save. 5 minutes into the match, FC Bruges's goal looked a bit too open when Arnout Worteleers came free, but Luc Van Hinnendael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luc Van Hinnendael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Wirinckx in the 12th minute of play. Christoffel Portmans made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Xavies Muñagorri sent off a good shot on target. FC Bruges's Luc Van Hinnendael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnout Worteleers in the 15th minute of play. Luc Van Hinnendael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Wirinckx in the 16th minute of the match. Luc Van Hinnendael showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Wirinckx, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. SK Dreigoten's Christoffel Portmans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save SK Dreigoten from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Philip Verhasselt got free with Christoffel Portmans in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, SK Dreigoten's Roger De Rijck got a free kick in the 37th minute. 38 minutes into the match, SK Dreigoten's goal looked a bit too open when Carl Van Kamp came free, but Christoffel Portmans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roger De Rijck hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Arnout Worteleers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Luc Van Hinnendael made a huge save.
