Wieslaw Rzeszutko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Westelinx in the 23rd minute of play. FC Ouagadougou National's Rene Vereijt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gigi Contra in the 25th minute of play. In the 39th minute of the game Gigi Contra made a throw-in which Jaspar Raymaekers played forward. Gigi Contra made in the 41st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by FC Ouagadougou National's Paolo Evis. The audience thought a goal was coming when William Westelinx got free with Wieslaw Rzeszutko in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 44 minutes AFC Irocha's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Riemer Ax who took care of the corner kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xander-Paul Van Linthoudt made a kick off.
