Fabian Jensen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henk Kannen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jost Mörz having to interfere. Sussfeld's Henk Kannen got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Sussfeld's Justin Paule got a free kick in the 20th minute. If Elmar Dersewski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Björn Roth during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience was convinced that Elmar Dersewski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hannes Spreitzer was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. After having played for 30 minutes, Jan Sohlmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC MILAN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Sohlmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Sussfeld's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Sohlmann came free, but Hannes Spreitzer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabian Jensen got free with Jost Mörz in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 35 played minutes AC MILAN got a freekick which was hit by Timo Breitenstein. Jan Sohlmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elmar Dersewski was the one to do the kick off. If Fabian Jensen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 53 minutes into the match, Sussfeld's Henk Kannen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jost Mörz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jan Sohlmann was extremely unlucky when he, in the 60th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sussfeld's goalkeeper Hannes Spreitzer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Elmar Dersewski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elmar Dersewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hannes Spreitzer having to interfere. Klaus Bade shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Henk Kannen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Jost Mörz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sören Gottmann kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Elmar Dersewski struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Hannes Spreitzer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC MILAN. In the 80th match minute, AC MILAN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yanick Kromp to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in AC MILAN's zone, Henk Kannen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jost Mörz came out of the goal and Henk Kannen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Fabian Jensen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AC MILAN were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
