The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Koenig in the 3rd minute of play forced HNK Hajduk Split's goalkeeper Heinz-Dieter Kürten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elias Busse kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 13th match minute, HNK Hajduk Split was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Rohde to maneuver through the defense. A sloppy throw-in by Elias Busse in the 15th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by HNK Hajduk Split's Waldemar Reinhard. 20 minutes into the match, HNK Hajduk Split's goal looked a bit too open when Lutz Baumann came free, but Heinz-Dieter Kürten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Peter Koenig took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Heinz-Dieter Kürten to make any attempt to save it. Heinz-Dieter Kürten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jochen Ruthus in the 24th minute of the match. With a little luck, HNK Hajduk Split's Heinz-Dieter Kürten got control of the ball when Sebastian Siberichs tried to sneak it across the goal line. HNK Hajduk Split's Heinz-Dieter Kürten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Koenig in the 28th minute of play. Heinz-Dieter Kürten was a little too slow when Lutz Baumann got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 34th match minute, HNK Hajduk Split was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peer Sauer to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute Peter Koenig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heinz-Dieter Kürten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Willi Priebsch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, HNK Hajduk Split's Heinz-Dieter Kürten got control of the ball when Mark-André Brunet tried to sneak it across the goal line. 41 minutes into the game, Lutz Baumann recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Heinz-Dieter Kürten. Lutz Baumann showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Simon Hensel to strike the kick off in the second half. HNK Hajduk Split's Frederic Gerber got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Michael Rohde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ralf Schwarz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Heinz-Dieter Kürten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Koenig, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Simon Hensel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ralf Schwarz. WieselsFeld FSV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Simon Hensel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Heinz-Dieter Kürten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark-André Brunet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Michael Rohde struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Ralf Schwarz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HNK Hajduk Split. 66 minutes into the match, HNK Hajduk Split's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Siberichs came free, but Heinz-Dieter Kürten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastian Siberichs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heinz-Dieter Kürten having to interfere. Peter Koenig took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Heinz-Dieter Kürten. Heinz-Dieter Kürten dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Heinz-Dieter Kürten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark-André Brunet, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. WieselsFeld FSV fully deserved thier win.
