The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Thomas Aigner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Piesting's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oberboden FC the free kick. After 2 played minutes Piesting got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Aigner. Dennis Pollakowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Fellner in the 5th minute of play. Benjamin Wosnitza charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benjamin Wosnitza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 9th minute, Benjamin Wosnitza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 12 minutes of play, Oberboden FC's Fabian Weniger made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dennis Pollakowski was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Oberboden FC's Patrick Ehlen got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Julius Schüten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrick Ehlen hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Dennis Pollakowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Weniger in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Piesting's goalkeeper Dennis Pollakowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in Piesting fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! Mathias Vanek shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 42nd minute Fabian Weniger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennis Pollakowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tino Schmitzberger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Helmut Wagner having to interfere. Helmut Wagner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tino Schmitzberger went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
After 58 minutes, Philip Mützel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piesting and the Oberboden FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th match minute, Piesting was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip Mützel to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute Tino Schmitzberger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmut Wagner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Piesting's Julius Schüten nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Helmut Wagner made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
