An unexpected shot in the 3rd minute by Manuel Kleiner got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Dennis Schulzki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philipp Hassenrück in the 5th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Philipp Hassenrück in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dennis Schulzki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Graschuh booed when FC Birnbaum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Hengen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan-Felix Kopinski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Kleiner in the 13th minute. The audience was convinced that Uli Hoffner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jan-Felix Kopinski was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. FC Birnbaum's Philipp Hassenrück got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 22 minutes into the game, Kai-Uwe Frick was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Graschuh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Birnbaum the free kick. In the 22nd match minute, Graschuh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kai-Uwe Frick to maneuver through the defense. Marco Zimmermann scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dennis Schulzki, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 29th minute Philipp Hassenrück shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennis Schulzki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Kleiner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Graschuh's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Zimmermann came free, but Dennis Schulzki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel Kleiner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Jan-Felix Kopinski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 39 played minutes Graschuh got a freekick which was hit by Kai-Uwe Frick. Florian Arndt, 40 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Tom-Lukas Wiskandt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Philipp Hassenrück was the one to do the kick off. Roman Sauter hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After having played for 52 minutes, Marco Zimmermann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Birnbaum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Zimmermann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jan-Felix Kopinski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manuel Kleiner went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Florian Arndt's late challenge caught a Graschuh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Florian Arndt helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 60 minutes, Leon Schnitzler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Graschuh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leon Schnitzler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bastian Wintergerst hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. FC Birnbaum's Jan-Felix Kopinski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Kleiner in the 63rd minute of play. Jan-Felix Kopinski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Kleiner's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Philipp Hassenrück fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Schulzki having to interfere. If Philipp Hassenrück had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Philipp Hassenrück received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Dennis Schulzki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, Justin Köppen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 91stth minute of the game Philipp Hassenrück who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Graschuh's Dennis Schulzki was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 92 played minutes FC Birnbaum got a freekick which was hit by Bastian Wintergerst. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Manuel Kleiner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Graschuh's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Kleiner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan-Felix Kopinski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
