Benjamin Hofrichter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Lange having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Klaas Frohlich got free with Teobald Kiewra in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Lenberg's Johann Schaaf in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Lenberg booed when Galatasaray was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tobias Faust didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lenberg's Teobald Kiewra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nino Durry in the 20th minute of play. When Johann Schaaf came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Lenberg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johann Schaaf couldn't finish the play. Klaas Frohlich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Teobald Kiewra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Galatasaray's Teobald Kiewra threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Erich Roks, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 27thth minute of the game Johann Schaaf who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Galatasaray's Christian Lange was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Teobald Kiewra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nino Durry in the 28th minute of the match. The supporters of Galatasaray booed when Lenberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemens Marchl didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute, Tommy Abt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christian Lange was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 44th minute Nino Durry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teobald Kiewra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nino Durry during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 48th minute of the match Hauke Kathage shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christian Lange showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Klaas Frohlich struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Teobald Kiewra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galatasaray. In the 55thth minute of the game Nino Durry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lenberg's Teobald Kiewra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 56 minutes, Hauke Kathage mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lenberg and the Galatasaray players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Johann Schaaf came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Lenberg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johann Schaaf couldn't finish the play. Christian Lange made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Tommy Abt sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nino Durry in the 73rd minute of play forced Lenberg's goalkeeper Teobald Kiewra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute of the match Kim Horsky sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Teobald Kiewra skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klaas Frohlich in the 77th minute of play forced Lenberg's goalkeeper Teobald Kiewra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
