It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Robin Schöttel kicked off to start the match. Robin Schöttel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hans-Dieter Klose in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dominik Lakos saved Edelseeberg from getting behind. Mattias Eberhart's late challenge caught a IFC Babenberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mattias Eberhart helped the player get up and apologised. Mattias Eberhart kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Klaus-Marco Henneke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Walter Beudel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven Steffen in the 17th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans-Dieter Klose in the 19th minute of play forced Edelseeberg's goalkeeper Dominik Lakos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Klaus-Marco Henneke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of IFC Babenberg booed when Edelseeberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattias Eberhart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Klaus-Marco Henneke came free with the goalkeeper in the 24th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dominik Lakos could save by the left post. Edelseeberg's Dominik Lakos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Edelseeberg from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Klaus-Marco Henneke got free with Dominik Lakos in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st minute, Klaus-Marco Henneke fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Dominik Lakos, passed just outside the right post. After 34 minutes, Hans-Dieter Klose made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Edelseeberg's Dominik Lakos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 40th minute, Sven Steffen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 46 in the game by Klaus-Marco Henneke from a close distance when the talented Dominik Lakos managed to make a qualified save. Edelseeberg's players were relieved. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The Dominik Lakos was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Sven Steffen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. IFC Babenberg's Walter Beudel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robin Schöttel in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute of the match Edelseeberg got a corner. IFC Babenberg's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. David Platen ran over to the corner to take the kick. When IFC Babenberg's Hans-Dieter Klose in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Edelseeberg's goalie prevented a goal. Dominik Lakos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hans-Dieter Klose's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Florian Reiners charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Florian Reiners the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Edelseeberg getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Florian Reiners hit a great ball. After 94 minutes Edelseeberg's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mario Linden who took care of the corner kick. The corner led IFC Babenberg's Mario Linden to fire away a dangerous shot which Dominik Lakos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Florian Reiners was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 94 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Edelseeberg's Florian Reiners got a free kick in the 95th minute. Dominik Lakos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Klaus-Marco Henneke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. IFC Babenberg's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
