The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Dornberg FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Philipp Dehnicke-Schröter came free, but Kai Hagedorn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Torsten Hemmerich who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Marcel Schiborr when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jan-Philipp Dehnicke-Schröter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Jan-Philipp Dehnicke-Schröter in the 26th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After having played for 28 minutes, Jan-Philipp Dehnicke-Schröter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bor. Dortmund's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Philipp Dehnicke-Schröter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Torsten Hemmerich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kai Hagedorn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Philipp Dehnicke-Schröter in the 38th minute of play. Ralf-Willy Wiedmann got in the 40th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Kai Hagedorn handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. If Ralf-Willy Wiedmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 48 played minutes, Bor. Dortmund's Dustin Nördershäuser shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kai Hagedorn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bor. Dortmund reached it. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After having played for 52 minutes, Jan-Philipp Dehnicke-Schröter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bor. Marcel Schiborr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from René Klare in the 59th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Dornberg FC's Maik Behn got a free kick in the 59th minute. When Ralf-Willy Wiedmann came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Bor. Dortmund fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ralf-Willy Wiedmann couldn't finish the play. Marcel Schiborr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torsten Hemmerich in the 73rd minute of play. Ralf-Willy Wiedmann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kai Hagedorn having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Dornberg FC's Marc-André Kastener got a free kick in the 75th minute. A collision led to Dornberg FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Marc-André Kastener hit a great ball. Ralf-Willy Wiedmann's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Kai Hagedorn skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jan-Philipp Dehnicke-Schröter struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Kai Hagedorn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bor. Dortmund. Joachim Overesch kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. René Klare charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed René Klare the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dornberg FC's Kai Hagedorn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan-Philipp Dehnicke-Schröter in the 93rd minute of play. Kai Hagedorn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Philipp Dehnicke-Schröter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan-Philipp Dehnicke-Schröter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Bor. Dortmund left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Dornberg FC.
