Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Claus Schüring took the kick off in the first half of the match. FC Thüringen's Marius Gagelmann got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gars's goalkeeper Arne Kühle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ralf Mallinger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rainer Payer, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gars's goalkeeper Arne Kühle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Gars's Rainer Payer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ralf Mallinger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 22nd play minutes Claus Schwärzler shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Arne Kühle and just under the crossbar into goal. Claus Schüring received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Ralf Mallinger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Thüringen's Marius Gagelmann got a free kick in the 28th minute. When Claus Schüring came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Gars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claus Schüring couldn't finish the play. The attack was good, but when Claus Schwärzler in the 33rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Gars's Arne Kühle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claus Schwärzler in the 36th minute of play. Marius Gagelmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of FC Thüringen booed when Gars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Eichelkraut didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Marius Gagelmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, FC Thüringen's Claus Schwärzler ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arne Kühle. Arne Kühle yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claus Schwärzler to strike the kick off in the second half. Arne Kühle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claus Schwärzler's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. If Claus Schwärzler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arne Kühle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claus Schwärzler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claus Schwärzler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Kühle having to interfere. After 67 minutes, Randy Holst mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Thüringen and the Gars players grew even worse after the yellow card. Randy Holst hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Gars defense, Marius Gagelmann kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arne Kühle. The Gars fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arne Kühle should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Claus Schwärzler sped through Gars's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arne Kühle. The supporters of Gars booed when FC Thüringen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marius Gagelmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th match minute, FC Thüringen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnold Wolters to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute Marius Gagelmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Kühle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rainer Payer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Ralf Mallinger made a huge save. Arnold Wolters hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Marius Gagelmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Kühle having to interfere. FC Thüringen's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
