Alf Husband started the match with the kick off. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Alf Husband put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Zak Holyfield. If Alf Husband had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Poynton City's Zak Holyfield proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Poynton City from getting a goal against them. After 22 minutes, Mickey Bourne made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Peretol FC's Jasper Hampton tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Stan Bartlett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zak Holyfield having to interfere. Oliver Blackley hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. If Seth Bass had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Poynton City's Zak Holyfield played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alf Husband in the 36th minute of play. The supporters of Peretol FC booed when Poynton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Archie Blowman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 43 minutes, Alf Husband managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peretol FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alf Husband was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 43 minutes, Brendon Worrall mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Poynton City and the Peretol FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Peretol FC booed when Poynton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brendon Worrall didn't get a good kick on the ball. Seth Bass fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zak Holyfield having to interfere. The supporters of Poynton City booed when Peretol FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rod Booker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leroy Dingle missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 48 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Jasper Hampton right hand side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

With a little luck, Peretol FC's Jasper Hampton got control of the ball when Nick Croyden tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Poynton City's zone, Seth Bass stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zak Holyfield came out of the goal and Seth Bass tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alf Husband's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zak Holyfield read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Poynton City's goal looked a bit too open when Seth Bass came free, but Zak Holyfield reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, Peretol FC's Seth Bass nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zak Holyfield made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Zak Holyfield stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alf Husband's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. When Peretol FC's Alf Husband in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Poynton City's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alf Husband in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zak Holyfield saved Poynton City from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Archie Blowman during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Peretol FC's Seth Bass got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Peretol FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
