Harvey Harland charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Harvey Harland the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 3 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Harvey Harland. After 10 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Hayden Gold. Shawn Hepburn made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Jack North sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th minute, Shepshed's Tristan Sharpe ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Shawn Hepburn. Shawn Hepburn yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tristan Sharpe got free with Shawn Hepburn in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Barcelona's Shawn Hepburn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jack North in the 23rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Shepshed's Terry Connell got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Shepshed's goalkeeper Tony Beresford, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tristan Sharpe who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Shawn Hepburn when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 31st minute, Stephen Sawyer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tristan Sharpe got free with Shawn Hepburn in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 44 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Shawn Hepburn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tristan Sharpe. Shawn Hepburn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tristan Sharpe in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tristan Sharpe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tristan Sharpe in the 53rd minute of play forced FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Shawn Hepburn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Tristan Sharpe came free, but Shawn Hepburn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Jack North notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of FC Barcelona's Shawn Hepburn. Shawn Hepburn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Shawn Hepburn came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Shepshed's Tristan Sharpe. But to his dismay, Tristan Sharpe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 62nd match minute, FC Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garry Hurdle to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute Tristan Sharpe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shawn Hepburn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Shepshed booed when FC Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donny Holdsworth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shawn Hepburn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tristan Sharpe in the 78th minute of the match. When Garry Hurdle came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the FC Barcelona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Garry Hurdle couldn't finish the play. The supporters of FC Barcelona booed when Shepshed was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terry Connell didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tristan Sharpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shawn Hepburn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tristan Sharpe in the 96th minute of play. There was no doubt that Shepshed were the better team. Shepshed's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
