The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Saki Stal getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Marjan Orlatyi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saki Stal's Marjan Orlatyi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Saki Stal from getting a goal against them. In the 13th minute Danylo Sanzhar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentyn Vitvitskyi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valentyn Vitvitskyi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitaliy Kuprienko in the 14th minute of play. Vitaliy Kuprienko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentyn Vitvitskyi having to interfere. Oleg Pylypaka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Oleg Pylypaka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 26th match minute, Saki Stal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Panas Mykhayliv to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Saki Stal's Marjan Orlatyi got control of the ball when Oleg Pylypaka tried to sneak it across the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Danylo Sanzhar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saki Stal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stryj the free kick. When Yakiv Shevchenko fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saki Stal's protests and gave Yakiv Shevchenko a yellow card for diving instead. Yakiv Shevchenko kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Yakiv Shevchenko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Saki Stal's Marjan Orlatyi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Myroslav Dolganskyi in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Stryj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vsevolod Lunenko to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 67 minutes, Vitaliy Kuprienko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saki Stal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitaliy Kuprienko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valentyn Vitvitskyi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vitaliy Kuprienko in the 70th minute. Vitaliy Kuprienko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentyn Vitvitskyi having to interfere. Oleg Pylypaka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marjan Orlatyi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Myroslav Dolganskyi, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. If Vitaliy Kuprienko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oleg Pylypaka scored 3-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marjan Orlatyi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Saki Stal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Stryj.
