After a rather tough play, Mischhorje Metalist's Yuriy Zhuk got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Marjan Borysenko hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After 6 played minutes, Tschornobyl's Vadym Tymchenko shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tymur Pitsur came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tschornobyl reached it. Tschornobyl's Borys Yatchuk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maxym Rybka in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yaroslav Shved in the 11th minute of play forced Mischhorje Metalist's goalkeeper Tymur Pitsur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Gennadiy Fedorchuk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tschornobyl's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mischhorje Metalist the free kick. The supporters of Mischhorje Metalist booed when Tschornobyl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. The referee ignored Mischhorje Metalist's protests and gave Marjan Borysenko a yellow card for diving instead. The Tschornobyl players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
