Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Myroslav Shtanjko was out of position in the 3 minute of play, and Mykyta Shalata capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mykyta Shalata really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Myroslav Shtanjko made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Mykyta Shalata sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Kiev's Vitaliy Sotnyk got a free kick in the 6th minute. When Donetsjk's Yuriy Shevchenko, in the 7th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Donetsjk. A collision led to Kiev getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Panas Chayka hit a great ball. If Mykyta Shalata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mykyta Shalata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Myroslav Shtanjko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 minutes, Danylo Yarovenko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Donetsjk and the Kiev players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Kiev booed when Donetsjk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danylo Yarovenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Yuriy Berezhnyj sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Donetsjk's Myroslav Shtanjko didn't even have to move. After a defensive mix-up in Donetsjk's zone, Maxym Rozlach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Myroslav Shtanjko came out of the goal and Maxym Rozlach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gavrylo Lypovyj sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yuriy Shevchenko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Myroslav Rudyuk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Yuriy Shevchenko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Donetsjk's supporters rose to their feet, but Yuriy Shevchenko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Myroslav Rudyuk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute, Mykyta Shalata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Maxym Rozlach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Myroslav Shtanjko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Mykyta Shalata ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Myroslav Shtanjko was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Danylo Yarovenko was shown his second yellow card after 59 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mykyta Shalata in the 61st minute of play forced Donetsjk's goalkeeper Myroslav Shtanjko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 64 played minutes Donetsjk got a freekick which was hit by Vsevolod Semuka. Yuriy Berezhnyj was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 65th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Donetsjk's zone, Maxym Rozlach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Myroslav Shtanjko came out of the goal and Maxym Rozlach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mykyta Shalata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Myroslav Shtanjko having to interfere. When Marjan Bezotosnyi fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Donetsjk's protests and gave Marjan Bezotosnyi a yellow card for diving instead. Donetsjk's Myroslav Shtanjko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maxym Rozlach in the 74th minute of play. Gavrylo Lypovyj struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Myroslav Rudyuk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Donetsjk. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Yuriy Shevchenko got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Marjan Bezotosnyi came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Donetsjk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marjan Bezotosnyi couldn't finish the play. Myroslav Shtanjko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maxym Rozlach in the 84th minute of the match. Yuriy Shevchenko struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Myroslav Rudyuk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Donetsjk. Gavrylo Lypovyj recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Myroslav Rudyuk was a little too slow when Vsevolod Semuka got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 2-1. Kiev's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
