In the 3rd match minute, Volodymyr-Volynsjkyj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gennadiy Danchenko to maneuver through the defense. 0-1 became the score in the 4th minute when Maxym Taranenko elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Vyacheslav Babiychuk came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Volodymyr-Volynsjkyj fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vyacheslav Babiychuk couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Volodymyr-Volynsjkyj's zone, Oleg Zozulya stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Svyatoslav Pavlyuchenko came out of the goal and Oleg Zozulya tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Svyatoslav Pavlyuchenko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oleg Zozulya in the 34th minute of play. Vyacheslav Babiychuk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Vadym Ovcharenko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oleg Zozulya in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Svyatoslav Pavlyuchenko saved Volodymyr-Volynsjkyj from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
A collision led to Volodymyr-Volynsjkyj getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Vyacheslav Babiychuk hit a great ball. If Oleg Zozulya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rostyslav Sapuga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vadym Ovcharenko read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Oleg Zozulya was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 66th minute. Dniprodzerzhynsjk's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxym Taranenko in the 71st minute of play forced Volodymyr-Volynsjkyj's goalkeeper Svyatoslav Pavlyuchenko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Dniprodzerzhynsjk's Maxym Taranenko dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Svyatoslav Pavlyuchenko came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Dniprodzerzhynsjk's Oleg Zozulya. But to his dismay, Oleg Zozulya quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Maxym Taranenko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Svyatoslav Pavlyuchenko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Volodymyr-Volynsjkyj's Svyatoslav Pavlyuchenko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Volodymyr-Volynsjkyj from getting a goal against them. If Maxym Taranenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Dniprodzerzhynsjk left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Volodymyr-Volynsjkyj.
