The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 8 minutes, Panas Polivanov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rivne's supporters crossed their fingers, but Panas Polivanov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruslan Glushko got free with Ruslan Lytvyn in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tymur Yereschenko during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 10 played minutes The Mean Machine got a freekick which was hit by Tymur Yereschenko. After taking down the ball on Rivne's corner Kyrylo Myzenko fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ruslan Lytvyn quite easily take care of the ball. Borys Misyaylo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pavlo Medvedev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Borys Misyaylo managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Mean Machine's supporters rose to their feet, but Borys Misyaylo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pavlo Medvedev breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Rivne's Panas Polivanov slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ruslan Lytvyn. That made the score 1-0 after 25 minutes of play. In the 28th minute Platon Tarnovskyi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavlo Medvedev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 played minutes Rivne got a freekick which was hit by Volodymyr Dyachenko. A collision led to Rivne getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Valentyn Lakomskyi hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute of the match Denys Kavinskyi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pavlo Medvedev showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 34th minute The Mean Machine were awarded a corner. Denys Kavinskyi went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Rivne's goalie and right to Lev Nivinskyi. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Rivne's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Tymur Yereschenko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pavlo Medvedev having to interfere. Platon Tarnovskyi scored 1-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pavlo Medvedev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Platon Tarnovskyi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The corner led to Rivne's Stepan Khrystus getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 69 minutes into the match, The Mean Machine's Borys Misyaylo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pavlo Medvedev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, The Mean Machine's goal looked a bit too open when Panas Polivanov came free, but Ruslan Lytvyn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pavlo Medvedev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Platon Tarnovskyi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Rivne booed when The Mean Machine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arkhyp Bashlay didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rivne's Panas Polivanov in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Borys Misyaylo might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pavlo Medvedev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Borys Misyaylo ran back to his position shaking his head.
