Grygoriy Volodsjkyi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mefodiy Veretko having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kostjantynivka's Marjan Shukhevych got a free kick in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Novyj Rozdil Helios's Matviy Chernyshenko broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Vyacheslav Pavlyuchenko came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mefodiy Veretko could save by the left post. In the 32nd minute Stanislav Okhrimenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rostyslav Kovtun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rostyslav Kovtun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stanislav Okhrimenko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Kostjantynivka booed when Novyj Rozdil Helios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petro Komisarenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the game, one of Kostjantynivka:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Stanislav Okhrimenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Novyj Rozdil Helios's goalkeeper Rostyslav Kovtun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 71 minutes, Valeriy Bakumenko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kostjantynivka's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valeriy Bakumenko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 73rd minute by Stanislav Okhrimenko got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Stanislav Okhrimenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 82 minutes into the game, Valeriy Bakumenko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rostyslav Kovtun was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
