The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anton Rysan helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vadym Demydenko in the 22nd minute of play forced Ternopilj's goalkeeper Matviy Skorokhod to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matviy Skorokhod made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vadym Demydenko in the 24th minute of play. After 24 played minutes Ternopilj got a freekick which was hit by Mykola Pakholyuk. If Petro Rudyi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 76 minutes, Vsevolod Poterukha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ternopilj's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vsevolod Poterukha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 81 minutes of play Ternopilj's Stanislav Balenko was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 81st minute, one of Ternopilj:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ternopilj. 91 minutes into the match, Ternopilj's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Dekhtyaruk came free, but Matviy Skorokhod reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The tension between the Ternopilj and the Zhytomyr FC Vorskla players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ternopilj's Petro Rudyi got a free kick in the 97th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ternopilj fans cheered their team off the field, for while Zhytomyr FC Vorskla had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
