Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artem Khymych stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Poltava's zone, Valentyn Yarosh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonid Kychak came out of the goal and Valentyn Yarosh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Valentyn Yarosh came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Kyyiv [Kiew] FC Dnipro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentyn Yarosh couldn't finish the play. Valentyn Yarmash came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Poltava's Panas Voytovych. But to his dismay, Panas Voytovych quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. A collision led to Kyyiv [Kiew] FC Dnipro getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Viktor Stetsjko hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Poltava's goal looked a bit too open when Symon Virt came free, but Leonid Kychak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mykyta Slabyshev kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The Poltava supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Poltava would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
