Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Lviv FC Metalist's Kyrylo Ruban started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Borys Stafiychuk kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 5th minute of the match Viktor Stetsenko shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anatoliy Velychko showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mykola Komisarenko in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anatoliy Velychko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gennadiy Smolyarchuk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Eduard Borgun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matviy Bal struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Eduard Borgun didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chernigiv Metalist. After a defensive mix-up in Chernigiv Metalist's zone, Petro Zhmud stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anatoliy Velychko came out of the goal and Petro Zhmud tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anatoliy Velychko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyrylo Ruban in the 27th minute of play. Anatoliy Velychko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyrylo Ruban, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Kyrylo Ruban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lviv FC Metalist's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kyrylo Ruban was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matviy Bal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Chernigiv Metalist's goalkeeper Anatoliy Velychko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mykola Komisarenko. Kyrylo Ruban recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 58 minutes, Mykola Komisarenko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lviv FC Metalist's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mykola Komisarenko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Viktor Stetsenko took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anatoliy Velychko. Chernigiv Metalist's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Anatoliy Velychko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyrylo Ruban in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chernigiv Metalist's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Viktor Stetsenko was slow to take the kick. During this time Lviv FC Metalist's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Vyacheslav Zhersh almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Chernigiv Metalist's Anatoliy Velychko did a great save. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chernigiv Metalist's goalkeeper Anatoliy Velychko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matviy Bal in the 83rd minute of play forced Lviv FC Metalist's goalkeeper Eduard Borgun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mykola Komisarenko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Anatoliy Velychko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yakiv Davydovych during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Yakiv Davydovych hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Chernigiv Metalist had won after a very even match.
