Mykola Besarab sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 10th minute, Vasyl Shyschenko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Denys Kopyl was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Mykola Besarab received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ivan Rusol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tymofiy Rudyka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mariupolj FC booed when Khmilnyk FC Vorskla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitaliy Davydenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vasyl Shyschenko in the 20th minute of play forced Mariupolj FC's goalkeeper Denys Kopyl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tymofiy Rudyka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tymofiy Rudyka got free with Ivan Rusol in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Denys Kopyl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vasyl Shyschenko's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. A collision led to Mariupolj FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Artur Karakevych hit a great ball. Khmilnyk FC Vorskla's Nazar Chepura got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nazar Chepura scored 0-2 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Denys Kopyl, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Sergiy Vovchenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Borys Boitsan hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Mariupolj FC's Tymofiy Rudyka got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vasyl Shyschenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denys Kopyl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasyl Shyschenko in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Marko Pjyatachenko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Khmilnyk FC Vorskla's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 66th minute of the game, when Maxym Dvoryanenko after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Mariupolj FC's goal. Maxym Dvoryanenko was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. Nazar Chepura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denys Kopyl having to interfere. Vasyl Shyschenko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denys Kopyl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Denys Kopyl made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Nazar Chepura sent off a good shot on target. When Vasyl Shyschenko came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Khmilnyk FC Vorskla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vasyl Shyschenko couldn't finish the play. In the 76th match minute, Mariupolj FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergiy Vovchenko to maneuver through the defense. After 84 minutes, Sergiy Vovchenko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mariupolj FC and the Khmilnyk FC Vorskla players grew even worse after the yellow card. Denys Kovtun kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the match, Khmilnyk FC Vorskla's goal looked a bit too open when Tymofiy Rudyka came free, but Ivan Rusol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Nazar Chepura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 97th minute, Mariupolj FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vasyl Shyschenko fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.
