When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Nazmi Baloğlu put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gafur Adak. 34 minutes into the match, Zara's goalkeeper Zeki Adalı had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kutalp Tutkun. Zeki Adalı showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fazıl Boztepe, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nazmi Baloğlu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mümtazer Acarbay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Gafur Adak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Kutalp Tutkun had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zeki Adalı. Zara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kutalp Tutkun was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Kösk's Atilla Yalazalp got a free kick in the 69th minute. If Kutalp Tutkun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Kutalp Tutkun's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeki Adalı was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. After 76 played minutes Zara got a freekick which was hit by İsmail Cem Boranalp. 83 minutes into the game, Fazıl Boztepe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Zeki Adalı was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 87th minute, Fazıl Boztepe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
