Mersin's İdris Özalp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Akif Okboğa in the 8th minute of play. In the 13th minute Alkın Alp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abidin Akgündüz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 minutes, Serdar Karaca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bafra SK and the Mersin players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Bafra SK's zone, Necip Fazıl Ünüvar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abidin Akgündüz came out of the goal and Necip Fazıl Ünüvar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alkın Alp's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abidin Akgündüz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ergün Tandan during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. İdris Özalp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Akif Okboğa in the 21st minute of the match. Mersin's attack was well implemented in the 23rd minute, but when Necip Fazıl Ünüvar was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Necip Fazıl Ünüvar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Emre Yezid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without İdris Özalp having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alkın Alp stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mersin's goalkeeper İdris Özalp, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 66thth minute of the game Akif Okboğa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mersin's İdris Özalp was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alkın Alp kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Akif Okboğa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without İdris Özalp having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gani Paksan during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gani Paksan hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 89th match minute, Bafra SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zekai Uçkan to maneuver through the defense. Akif Okboğa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
