The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Ahmet Sedat Akergin notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Üzümlü's Bektaş Ali Akbaşak. Bektaş Ali Akbaşak was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sufi Refi couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Üzümlü's Sufi Refi got a free kick in the 40th minute. After having played for 44 minutes, Sufi Refi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Üzümlü's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sufi Refi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Üzümlü getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Baha Serhun hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denizhan Saykal to make the kick off. Bektaş Ali Akbaşak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denizhan Saykal in the 60th minute of play. Ahmet Sedat Akatay might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Süruri Doğanlar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ahmet Sedat Akatay ran back to his position shaking his head. Özden Seci kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Üzümlü's Cemil Ulutan got a free kick in the 70th minute. Sufi Refi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ahmet Sedat Akatay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sufi Refi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ahmet Sedat Akatay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Süruri Doğanlar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ahmet Sedat Akatay struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Süruri Doğanlar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Üzümlü. Üzümlü's Özbek Öztimur got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baha Serhun got a throw-in 97 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ahmet Sedat Akatay. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Sedat Akatay in the 97th minute of play forced Sekerspor FK's goalkeeper Süruri Doğanlar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Süruri Doğanlar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sufi Refi in the 99th minute of play.
