Battal Gazi Mertel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, Eleskirt's goal looked a bit too open when Batıkan Dilhun came free, but Battal Gazi Mertel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Batıray Oymen in the 19th minute of play forced Eleskirt's goalkeeper Battal Gazi Mertel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Köksal Çiftçioğlu hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Yüksel Aktekin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Batıray Oymen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th minute, Batıray Oymen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KARŞIYAKA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After having played for 41 minutes, Yüksel Aktekin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KARŞIYAKA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yüksel Aktekin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Eleskirt's goal looked a bit too open when Batıray Oymen came free, but Battal Gazi Mertel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Naim Humbaracıbaşı kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Batıray Oymen was the one to do the kick off. Battal Gazi Mertel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Batıray Oymen in the 89th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, KARŞIYAKA's Talip Taykara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Battal Gazi Mertel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Çağatay İpekdal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cem Uysal having to interfere. In the 93rd minute of the game, Ahmet Göktuğ Yesar landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Ayvaz Mukaddes got his second yellow card in the match during the 93rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to KARŞIYAKA getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Ayvaz Mukaddes hit a great ball. Battal Gazi Mertel made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Yüksel Aktekin sent off a good shot on target. KARŞIYAKA were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Eleskirt to leave the ground with a draw.
