Ergün Oyanalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Yaşar Nuri Şen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Yaşar Nuri Şen. That made the score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yaşar Nuri Şen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Bedih Adalı kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Mesopotamia's goalkeeper Yaşar Nuri Şen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ergün Oyanalp. 19 minutes into the match, Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Yaşar Nuri Şen, 2-0. If Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 played minutes Mesopotamia got a freekick which was hit by Bedih Adalı. Yaşar Nuri Şen came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Genc JK's Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin. But to his dismay, Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Yaşar Nuri Şen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ahmet Sedat Baykır hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Ergün Oyanalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yaşar Nuri Şen having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Ergün Oyanalp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Genc JK's supporters rose to their feet, but Ergün Oyanalp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yaşar Nuri Şen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Mesopotamia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cevdet Talaş to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Mesopotamia's Samir Demiray got a free kick in the 54th minute. Ekrem Özkaya took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Yaşar Nuri Şen. Mesopotamia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ahmet Sedat Baykır kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the game, Genc JK's Ünal Çaykara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yaşar Nuri Şen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Yaşar Nuri Şen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin in the 62nd minute of play. Ünal Çaykara took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yaşar Nuri Şen. Yaşar Nuri Şen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 71st minute, Ergün Oyanalp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebati Akçınar struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Yaşar Nuri Şen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Genc JK. Yaşar Nuri Şen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ergün Oyanalp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin in the 86th minute of play forced Mesopotamia's goalkeeper Yaşar Nuri Şen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Mesopotamia's goal looked a bit too open when Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin came free, but Yaşar Nuri Şen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yaşar Nuri Şen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ergün Oyanalp in the 91st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yavuz Selimhan Devlettin in the 93rd minute of play forced Mesopotamia's goalkeeper Yaşar Nuri Şen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that Genc JK were the better team. Genc JK's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
