The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Selman Yeten struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Vefa Tengizalp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Silifke. The crowd rose to their feet as Güray Oray kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vefa Tengizalp. That made the score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. Nusrettin Uruç kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Onurhan Barkın took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atakan Akova, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Üzeyir Başat kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Atakan Akova received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Onurhan Barkın tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Erdem Ceviz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Onurhan Barkın was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. 24 minutes into the match, Gümüssuyu SK's goalkeeper Vefa Tengizalp had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Güray Oray. Gümüssuyu SK's Erdem Ceviz got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 44 minutes into the game, Gümüssuyu SK's Erdem Ceviz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Onurhan Barkın made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Atakan Akova could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Onurhan Barkın made a huge save. 54 minutes into the match, Silifke's goal looked a bit too open when Erdem Ceviz came free, but Onurhan Barkın reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Onurhan Barkın made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Atakan Akova sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st match minute, Silifke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Üzeyir Başat to maneuver through the defense. Üzeyir Başat kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Onurhan Barkın made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erdem Ceviz in the 64th minute of play. Vefa Tengizalp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İlker Kunter, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Müfit Betik hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Silifke's Recep Tayyip Aktar got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Silifke's zone, Nusrettin Uruç stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Onurhan Barkın came out of the goal and Nusrettin Uruç tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95th minute Erdem Ceviz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Onurhan Barkın saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Onurhan Barkın made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erdem Ceviz in the 97th minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
